Travel Jharkhand – The Land of Majestic Waterfalls

Billed as a tribal state with its 80 percent of tribal population Jharkhand flaunts its evergreen forests, wildlife, lakes, waterfalls, scenic beauty, health and holiday resorts to entice many an inbound traveler. Sarhul is the most famous festival among the tribes. Dhanbad city is a mine zone, whereas minerals are rich in Chhotanagpur. Hazaribagh is a well-known wildlife sanctuary. Jamshedpur and Bokaro are exclusive industrial zones. Jharkhand is the land of majestic waterfalls. Forty kms from Ranchi is Kanchi river falling from a height of about 144 feet. The Swarnarekha River falls from a height of 320 feet making a wonderful scene known as Hundru falls 28 kms away from Ranchi town. About 70 km from Ranchi en route to Chakradharpur is Hirni Falls amidst dense forest. Some comely sights in the town include Ranchi Hill, Tagore Hill, Ranchi Lake etc. Ten kms from Ranchi situated the old temple of lord Jagannath built in 1691 in the architectural style of Puri Temple. About 39 km from Ranchi on Tata Road is the elegant Sun temple created in the form of huge chariot with 18 decorated wheels and seven life like horses ready to take of.
