Once a major Portuguese trading port on the ancient silk route, Macau lies on the western bank of the Pearl River Delta in south China. An interesting potpourri of western and Chinese cultures, Macau now a part of China is a tourist cum gambling paradise. Inter connected by bridges ‘The Historic Center Of Macau’ linking over twenty monuments is a world heritage site.

Named after the seafarer’s Goddess ‘A-Ma-Gau, Macau with its many temples, churches and casinos is ideal for walking. Take a walk to Largo De Senado with its fountains, St Dominic’s church, the old waterfront, or Dr Sun Yat Sen’s memorial to enjoy the true essence of Macau. With 2006 being deemed ‘Macau world heritage year’, Macau is the place to visit this year.
